How to Run an ACFT
To run an ACFT, you need to follow official Army guidelines for administering all six events: 3-rep max deadlift, standing power throw, hand-release push-ups, sprint-drag-carry, plank (or leg tuck), and the 2-mile run. Begin by ensuring that all soldiers are medically cleared and warmed up. Each event should be conducted in sequence, with certified graders at every station and an OIC/NCOIC overseeing the test. Allow up to 5 minutes of rest between events, and ensure proper form and safety are maintained at all times. Record scores accurately and calculate totals using an ACFT calculator. Knowing how to run an ACFT correctly ensures fairness, consistency, and compliance with Army standards, while providing soldiers with a safe and effective testing environment.
