How to Set Up ACFT
To set up the ACFT, begin by preparing the testing area for all six events: 3-rep max deadlift, standing power throw, hand-release push-ups, sprint-drag-carry, plank (or leg tuck), and the 2-mile run. Each event requires its own lane, proper equipment, and certified graders to ensure safety and accurate scoring. The deadlift and power throw need weight racks and measuring tools, while the sprint-drag-carry requires a 25-meter marked course. Core events like the plank or leg tuck need flat, stable surfaces, and the 2-mile run should be on a measured track or road course. Assign trained ACFT graders to each lane and designate an OIC/NCOIC to supervise the test. Proper organization and setup ensure fairness, consistency, and compliance with Army standards. Using an ACFT calculator helps track scores efficiently during the testing process.
