Is the ACFT Hard?
The ACFT can be challenging, especially for soldiers who have not trained specifically for all six events: 3-rep max deadlift, standing power throw, hand-release push-ups, sprint-drag-carry, plank (or leg tuck), and the 2-mile run. Each event tests a different aspect of fitness, including strength, power, endurance, agility, and core stability, which makes the test demanding for both beginners and experienced soldiers. Consistent event-specific training and tracking progress with an ACFT calculator can make the test more manageable and improve scores. While some soldiers may find certain events harder than others, proper preparation ensures that the ACFT is achievable and fair, reflecting overall Army physical readiness.
