What is the ACFT?
The ACFT, or Army Combat Fitness Test, is the U.S. Army’s current physical fitness test that evaluates a soldier’s ability to perform in combat-related tasks. It was introduced to replace the old Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) and is designed to measure strength, endurance, agility, and coordination through six different events: 3-rep max deadlift, standing power throw, hand-release push-ups, sprint-drag-carry, plank (or leg tuck), and a 2-mile run. Understanding what is the ACFT is essential for anyone in or preparing to join the Army, as it plays a vital role in career advancement and overall readiness. With tools like an ACFT calculator, soldiers can better prepare and optimize their training plans to achieve high scores.
